Gilles Renmans shines in Brno with maiden pole position

Gilles Renmans continued his adventure in the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe season, this time racing around the Brno circuit in the fourth round of the continental series. In a challenging weekend due to adverse weather, the Belgian was able to shine in all conditions, claiming his first pole position of the season in the process. Renmans is partaking in the championship together with Francorchamps Motors Brussels, in collaboration with Double TT Racing and DAV Racing, behind the wheel of the Ferrari 296 Challenge #77 of the team and competing in the Trofeo Pirelli Pro class.

The Czech weekend started incredibly well for Renmans, who secured first position in both free practice sessions on Friday. Following the same script, Saturday’s qualifying couldn’t have gone any better: with a time of 1:56.025, he claimed his first pole position of the season. The Belgian thus confirmed his great feeling with the car, after taking home his first win of the season in Monza and continuing his run of form with some strong performances in the following rounds. In the afternoon race, however, a difficult start saw Renmans drop to fifth in the overall standings, though he was able to settle in second position in the Pro class. Following a contact with another car that sent him into a spin, he then dropped further down the order; however, the Belgian was able to recover to fourth place in his category by the end of the race.

The second qualifying session was made difficult by the torrential rain that fell on the circuit on Sunday morning; despite that, Gilles put on yet another impressive display, finishing third in his class with a time of 2:12.996. Unfortunately, his second race ended prematurely on the very first lap, due to a contact that caused extensive damage to the car and forced Renmans to retire.

Following a weekend of ups and downs, Renmans retained fourth place in the drivers’ standings with 49 points. The next round of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe will be hosted in Spain, at the Valencia circuit, from June 26th to June 29th.
