Gilles Renmans returns on the podium in Valencia

Gilles Renmans secured a podium finish on Spanish soil in the Ferrari Challenge Europe. The series, which reached its halfway point after the Brno round, headed to Valencia for its fifth event of the 2025 season. Renmans is currently racing in the championship behind the wheel of the Ferrari 296 Challenge #77 for the Francorchamps Motors Brussels team, in collaboration with Double TT Racing and DAV Racing, competing in the Trofeo Pirelli Pro class.

Saturday proved to be a challenging day for the Belgian driver. After qualifying fourth in class with a time of 1:32.652, missing the pole at last corner due to a red flag, Renmans started Race 1 from the pit lane, forcing him to climb back through the field from the rear of the grid. The #77 driver managed to move up to 13th overall before returning to the pits to retire the car from the race.

A scorching Race 2, with temperatures approaching 40°C, saw Renmans secure a third-place podium finish. The Belgian driver had already claimed third in class during morning qualifying with a time of 1:32.425, improving on his Saturday’s performance. At the start, Renmans lost several positions but quickly recovered to fourth. He then applied pressure to his rival, regaining a podium spot midway through the race. The #77 driver for Francorchamps Motors Brussels Team crossed the finish line in third, not far behind the two competitors ahead of him.

Gilles Renmans achieved an excellent result at the Valencia circuit, obtaining a total of 50 points which keeps him in fourth place in the drivers’ standings. The next round of the Ferrari Challenge Europe will also be in Spain, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, on July 19th and 20th, 2025. Before that, Renmans will be on track in the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Sprint at the Mugello circuit on July 13th, 2025.
