The sixth round of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe has concluded at the Circuit de Montmelò. Gilles Renmans arrived in Barcelona with 50 points in the series, which features a total of eight races this season and is thus nearing its conclusion. Gilles Renmans is currently competing in the championship behind the wheel of the Ferrari 296 Challenge #77 for the Francorchamps Motors Brussels team, in collaboration with Double TT Racing and DAV Racing, racing in the Trofeo Pirelli Pro class.
In the first qualifying session, held on Saturday, the Belgian driver secured third position in the PRO class with a time of 1:42.606. In the hot Spanish afternoon, Race 1 for Renmans ended prematurely. After battling for a podium position throughout the race, an unfortunate contact in the final stages of the event forced the Ferrari 296 Challenge #77 out of contention, leading to finish in the last place.
Gilles Renmans made a strong comeback the following day, securing a phenomenal second place in qualifying, improving his time with a 1:42.405. Gilles immediately took the lead of the race on the first lap, maintaining his advantage over rivals until the safety car period. After the green flag returned, Renmans dropped to second position, where he remained until the checkered flag in a race that had a straightforward conclusion,
achieving a podium finish.
Gilles Renmans leaves Spain with a total of 75 points in the drivers’ standings, reclaiming fourth place just a few points behind his rival ahead of him. The next round of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe will be at Spa, Gilles’ home race, on September 20-21.
