The Hockenheim circuit hosted the third round of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe. Francorchamps Motors Brussels team driver Gilles Renmans arrived from Misano with zero points from both races, looking for a comeback on the German track. Renmans competed in the Trofeo Pirelli with the Ferrari 296 Challenge #77, thanks to the support of Double TT Racing and DAV Racing.
In the first qualifying session of the weekend, the Belgian driver clocked a time of 1:37.929, securing second position. However, due to a collision in free practice, he was demoted two positions on the Race 1 starting grid. The first of the two races was affected by a triple safety car period, which prevented Renmans from attempting a podium attack. In the final minutes of the race, after the restart from the last safety car, Renmans had a difficult start that dropped him to sixth place in class, where he then finished the race.
Sunday morning was featured by wet track conditions, making the qualifying session harder. Renmans secured fourth position with a time of 1:51.619, despite a red flag at the end of the session that prevented him from improving. The race took place in dry conditions, and the Belgian driver temporarily moved up to third place, dropping back to fourth due to some chaos at the Hairpin corner. Renmans then crossed the finish line in fourth position.
At the Hockenheim circuit, Renmans earned 12 points, bringing his total to 38 and placing him in third position overall. The driver from Halle will face the next round of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Europe in Brno on the weekend of June 5-8, 2025.
