Gilles Renmans will face a new adventure in 2025: in fact, the Belgian is set to race in Ferrari Challenge Europe next season, joining one of the most competitive one-make championships as part of his development as a GT driver. The 23-year-old will be joining the European series together with Francorchamps Motors Brussels, thus creating a fully Belgian partnership; the team is no stranger to the motor racing world, as it has enjoyed a successful technical partnership with none other than AF Corse in the recent past – scoring a historic one-two in the 2023 GTWC Europe Endurance Cup season finale in Barcelona, before winning both the drivers’ and teams’ titles last season.
Renmans is managed by Double TT – Onofrio Veneziani’s management outfit in collaboration with his former driver Matteo Davenia – as its racing team gave the Belgian his first shot at a full-time season of GT racing last year. In 2024, Renmans showed promising signs of growth: the driver from Halle competed in the Italian GT Sprint Championship, finishing 11th overall in the GTCup Pro-Am class and achieving a best result of second in the final race of the season. He also made his debut for the team in the Endurance series later the same year, claiming pole in his first and only attempt and finishing P2 in class during the race.
The Belgian driver is set to make his Ferrari Challenge Europe debut in the Trofeo Pirelli category – the main class of the series – where he will fight for glory during the eight rounds of the championship, including a fascinating home race at Spa for round seven. The opening weekend of the series is only a couple of months away, as the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will host round one of the championship from the 27th to the 30th of March.
Gilles Renmans
“I’m very excited to be competing in Ferrari Challenge Europe this year: it is a well-renowned championship on the GT scene, and I know that I’ll be up against some of the very best drivers of this category. I’m also extremely honoured to be racing for Francorchamps Motors Brussels: they have had amazing achievements in the past two seasons together with AF Corse, and I can’t wait to start working with them to achieve the best results possible in 2025.”
